Meetings, conferences and other events

Istat promotes, alone or in collaboration with other institutions, opportunities for discussion among stakeholders, public and private institutions, scholars and users, by organizing a variety of events: conferences, seminars, workshops, scientific meetings, days of study, fair participations.

The objective is to disseminate and share knowledge, analyze and understand economic and social phenomena, especially new and emerging ones, share statistical information sources and needs.

The most important event for official statistics is the National Conference of Statistics, held every two years to keep in touch the actors of the National Statistical System and the data users. The conference is also the occasion to tell the latest news from the Istat world and to discuss the issues most relevant for the growth of the country (Law 322/89, article 15, paragraph 4).
