Public consultation

With this open consultation, Istat and the other bodies of the Italian National Statistical System (Sistan) collect contributions, observations, and proposals on the responsiveness of official statistics to knowledge needs and user requirements.

The consultation is aimed at institutional stakeholders, the scientific community, researchers, journalists, enterprises, associations, interested citizens, and anyone who wishes to participate with their reflections.

The focus is not on communicating and disseminating data, but on statistical production.

The public consultation is a listening tool; it is consultative and non-binding but can substantially contribute to strengthening the relevance, quality, and usability of official statistics, while promoting the transparency of statistical action and user involvement.

Why a public consultation

Active listening

Gathering, through a structured process, the perspectives of all stakeholders, with the aim of enriching and improving official statistics.

Transparency

Strengthening the role of official statistics producers by promoting the involvement of users and all citizens.

Data quality

Monitor the relevance and value of existing statistics in relation to the needs and priorities expressed directly by users.

How to participate

To participate, it is necessary to complete a short form with some personal information relevant for data analysis and interpretation, choose the topic or topics of interest, and provide your contribution to the discussion.
