Kenya: Support to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics for modernization of statistical production and dissemination

BUDGET: € 350.000
The project focuses on the following topics:
- Modernization of traditional survey processes — particularly business surveys for the production of short-term statistics — through the use of more efficient and open-source tools
- Environmental and climate change statistics
- Small area estimation
- Use of alternative data sources (administrative and other innovative sources)
- Architectural design of an integrated dissemination system
- Capacity building on the most widely used programming and analytical languages in official statistics, particularly R and Python
Overall objective: to contribute to increasing the availability of quality statistical information on Kenya to support evidence-based decision-making, through the modernization of production and dissemination processes within the National Statistical System (NSS)
Specific objective: to enhance the collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination of official KNBS statistics through the use of modern tools and systems
