The rankings of the teams participating in the second phase of the Italian Statistics Olympics – the competition aimed at students in the first four classes of upper secondary schools – are now available. A total of 47 teams took part in the team phase.
In the I and II class group, first place went to the team from the IIS “Lombardo-Radice” of Bojano (Campobasso) with the work “Wellbeing and sustainability”, followed by the team from the ITC “Riccati-Luzzatti” of Treviso, with the work “The 3 faces of Treviso: wellbeing, equity, sustainability” (I and II class ranking).
First place in the III and IV class group was awarded to the Liceo “M. Buonarroti” of Trento, with the work “Trentino vs Italy: joys and sorrows”, followed by the team from the Istituto “Primo Levi” of Vignola (Modena) with the work “The wellbeing of young people in Emilia Romagna” (III and IV class ranking).
The teams classified in the first two positions in each of the two categories will enter the European Statistics Competition, the European competition promoted by Eurostat in collaboration with the European National Statistical Institutes, in which students from upper secondary schools in EU countries participate.
