The attached tables present the results of the survey on protests relating to 2008 and 2009.
The surveys are conducted every year and regard all events. A brief note describing the surveys is also provided.
In 2009 the number of protests was 1,570,873, an increase of 6.4 per cent compared with the previous year.
The data show an increase in the number of protests starting from the fourth quarter of 2008, during which period a positive year-over-year change of 1.6 per cent for the total of the phenomenon and in particular 10.4 per cent for ordinary bills of exchange (notes or promissory notes and sight drafts not accepted) was registered.
The peak was reached in the third quarter of 2009, which showed a year-over-year increase of 9.5 per cent on the same quarter of 2008.
