Istat 2026 Poster Competition
To mark 100 years of the Italian National Institute of Statistics, Istat organizes the first edition of the 2026 Italian National Statistical Poster Competition.
The initiative is open to students in Italian upper secondary schools and universities and aims to foster among young people an understanding of official statistics as a tool for understanding everyday reality.
The contest follows the same format as the ISLP International Statistical Poster Competition, in which Istat has participated since 2010.
There are two categories of participants:
- upper secondary schools;
- universities (bachelor’s degree).
The topic of the poster is “A hundred years of history in your territory.”

Registration opened on February 11, 2026, and closed on March 23, while the deadline for submitting posters was April 14.
A practical guide (Italian only) on the creative process for designing posters is available to teachers and students.
A webinar was held in early March to guide teachers and students from registered teams in using Istat’s historical statistical sources; the recording of the webinar is available to the coordinating teachers and students of the teams registered for the competition.
All participants receive a certificate of participation.
