Production in the construction sector – December 2023

In December 2023, estimates for construction output increased in the month-on-month series, rising by 4.4%.

In the 4^th quarter of 2023, the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction grew by 5.7% when compared with the previous quarter.

Year on year, the unadjusted index was up 2.6% and the calendar adjusted index increased by 9.9% (calendar working days being 18 versus 20 in December 2022).

Looking at annual growth rates, the whole of 2023 shows a slight contraction, falling by 0.1% in the calendar adjusted series, while the unadjusted index decreased by 0.7%.
