Foreign trade

Istat presents data on Italy’s foreign trade as well as unit value and volume indices (base year 2010=100) referring to July 2014.

  • In July 2014 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to June, decreased by 1.6% for outgoing flows and by 2.5% for incoming flows. The fall in exports is due to the decrease in sales to both areas: -2.7% for EU countries and -0.3% for non EU countries. Imports decreased for EU countries (-2.5%) and non EU countries (-2.6%). Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, in comparison with the previous three months, increased for both flows: +0.7% for exports and +2.5% for imports.
  • In July 2014, compared with the same month of the previous year, trade increased by 1.1% for exports (+2.5% for EU area and -0.5% for non EU countries) and fell by 1.4% for imports (+2.2% for EU and -5.6% for non EU countries). The trade balance in July amounted to +6.9 billion Euro (+3.3 billion Euro for EU area and +3.5 billion Euro for non EU countries) (Table 1).
