Foreign trade and import prices - October 2022
In October 2022 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to September 2022, decreased by -1.1% for outgoing flows and by -5.5% for incoming flows. Exports grew by +1.7% for EU countries and dropped by -4.3% for non-EU countries. Imports fell by -2.8% for EU countries and by -8.1% for non-EU countries.
Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, compared to the previous three months, decreased by -0.7% for exports and increased by +3.9% for imports.
In October 2022, compared with the same month of the previous year, both exports and imports grew (+17.5% and +28.2% respectively). Outgoing flows increased by +18.2% for EU countries and by +16.8% for non-EU countries. Incoming flows rose by +19.0% for EU area and by +39.4% for non-EU area. The trade balance in October 2022 amounted to -2,123 million Euros (+104 million Euros for EU countries and -2,227 million Euros for non-EU countries).
In October 2022, import prices decrease by 0.9% on monthly basis (-0.4% for the euro zone, -1.4% for the non-euro zone). Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, import prices increased by 2.5% (+1.4% for the euro zone, +3.4% for the non-euro zone).
Import prices, compared to the same month a year ago, increased by 15.9% in October 2022 (+9,4% for the euro zone and +22,1% for the non-euro zone).
