Foreign trade and import prices - July 2024

In July 2024 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to June 2024, decreased for exports (-0.5%) and increased for imports (+1.1%). Exports decreased by -0.2% for EU countries and by -0.7% for non-EU countries. Imports increased by +0.5% for EU countries and by +1.9% for non-EU countries.

Over the last quarter, seasonally-adjusted data, compared to the previous one, decreased for both exports (-2.8%) and imports (-0.5%).

In July 2024, compared with the same month of the previous year, exports increased by +6.8% and imports by +6.3%. Outgoing flows rose both for EU countries (+6.0%%) and for non-EU countries (+7,6%). Incoming flows increased by +7.9% for EU area and by +4.4% for non-EU area.

In July 2024, trade balance registered a surplus of +6,743 million Euros (+642 million Euros surplus for EU countries and +6,101 million Euros surplus for non-EU countries). Excluding energy, trade balance surplus was equal to +11,535 million Euros.

In July 2024, import prices increased by 0.5% on monthly basis (-0.1% for the euro zone, +1.2% for the non-euro zone). Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, import prices rose by 1.0% (+0.5% for the euro zone, +1.5% for the non-euro zone).

Import prices, compared to the same month a year ago, increased by 1.3% (-0.1% for the euro zone, +2.7% for the non-euro zone).
