Production in the construction sector - February 2024

In February 2024, estimates for construction output decreased in the month-on-month series, falling by 3.9%.

In the three month to February, the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction grew by 3.6% when compared with the previous three-month period.

Year on year, the unadjusted index was up 10.2% and the calendar adjusted index increased by 5.9% (calendar working days being 21 versus 20 days in February 2023).

In the first two months of 2024, construction output rose by 13.6% in the unadjusted series and grow by 9.4% in the calendar adjusted series.
