Foreign trade and import prices - June 2023

In June 2023 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to May 2023, increased by +0.4% for exports and decreased by -3.3% for imports. Exports increased by +0.5% for EU countries and by +0.3% for non-EU countries. Imports increased for EU countries (+4.9%) and dropped for non-EU countries (-14.5%).

Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, compared to the previous three months, dropped both for exports (-3.2%) and for imports (-3.5%).

In June 2023, compared with the same month of the previous year, exports increased by +1.0% and imports dropped by -16.9%. Outgoing flows decreased by -0.6% for EU countries and rose by +2.8% for non-EU countries. Incoming flows increased by +7.2% for EU area and decreased by -40.9% for non-EU area.

In June 2023, trade balance registered a surplus of +7,718 million Euros (-1,729 million Euros deficit for EU countries and +9,448 million Euros surplus for non-EU countries). Excluding energy, trade balance surplus reached +11,606 million Euros.

In June 2023, import prices decreased by 0.5% on monthly basis (-0.3% for the euro zone, -0.6% for the non-euro zone). Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, import prices decreased by 3.6% (-1.3% for the euro zone, -5.7% for the non-euro zone).

Import prices, compared to the same month a year ago, decreased by 9.8% in June 2023 (-0.9% for the euro zone and -16.9% for the non-euro zone).
