Production in the construction sector - April 2023

In April 2023, estimates for construction output decreased in the month-on-month series, falling by 3.8%.

In the three months to April 2023, the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction dropped by 0.8% when compared with the previous three-month period.

Year on year, the calendar adjusted index (calendar working days being 18 vs 19 in April 2022) was down 6.3% and the unadjusted index fell by 9.5%.

In the first four months of 2023, construction output declined by 1.7% in the calendar adjusted series and and by 1.8% in the unadjusted series.
