Turnover in services - Q1 2023

The Turnover in services index measures the quarterly evolution of sales by service sector enterprises at current prices. Since the first quarter 2018 indices are calculated with reference to the base year 2015 using the Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of NACE Rev.2).

In the first quarter of 2023 the seasonally adjusted Services turnover index increased by 2.2% compared to the previous quarter. In particular the index increased in Accommodation and food service activities (+8.9%), in Administrative and support service activities (+3.4%), in Professional, scientific and technical activities (+2.4%) in Wholesale trade, trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+2.0%), in Information and communication (+0.7%) and in Transportation and storage (+0.2%).

In the first quarter of 2023 the Services turnover index increased by 9.4% compared to the first quarter 2022. In particular, the index increased by 34.3% for Accommodation and food service activities, by 10.7% for Transportation and storage, activities, by 8.8% for Professional, scientific and technical activities, by 8.3% for Administrative and support service activities, by 7.9% for Wholesale trade, trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles and by 6.4% for Information and communication.
