In February 2023 estimates for seasonally adjusted index of value sales fell by 0.1% in the month on month series and volume dropped by 0.9%.
In the three months to February 2023 value of sales was up 1.4%, whereas volume of sales decreased by 0.6% when compared with the previous three-month period.
In February 2023 value of retail trade continued to grow for the 24th month in a row in the year on year series, rising by 5.8%, while volume sales fell by 3.5%.
In February 2023, when compared with the same month a year earlier, large-scale distribution was up 8.2%, small-scale distribution increased by 3.5% and non-store retail sales was up 2.9%.
Online sales rose by 5.6% in February 2023 when compared with February 2022.
Looking at the value of sales for non-food products, all sectors experienced growth. The largest increases were reported for Cosmetic and toilet articles (+10.5%) and Tools (+6.8%). The smallest growth was reported for Electric household appliances, audio-video equipment (+0.3%).
