In the second quarter 2022 the notary agreements regarding sales of real estate units and any other kind of exchange of properties and appurtenances in return for payment amounted to 280,490 (+2.3% compared with previous quarter and +6.4% on an annual basis).
Compared with the previous quarter, the residential sector marked positive percentage changes in all geographical areas: Islands +6.6%, Centre +5.0%, South +4.7%; North-East +0.5% and North-West +0.1%. The economic sector grew in Centre (+1.8%) and Islands (+1.3%), while decreased in North-East (-4.1%), North-West (-2.3%) and South (-0.6%).
94.8% of the notary agreements concerned transfers of residential properties (266,008), 4.8% affected transfers of properties for business purposes (13,578) and 0.3% estates for special uses and multi-owned properties (904).
Compared with the second quarter 2021, real estate unit exchange agreements encreased by 6.6% in the residential sector and by 3.3% in the economic sector.
Housing sector recorded positive results in the whole Country also on an annual basis (Islands +16.0%, South +12.3%, Centre +10.5%, North-West +2.4%, North-East +2.2%, large cities +7.3% and small cities +6.0%). The economic sector grew in Centre (+8.4%), South (+7.5%); North-West (+3.7%); in large and small cities (respectively +5.2% and +2.0%), while decreased in Islands (-5.8%) and North-East (-1.7%)
The mortgage-secured loans amounted to 121,260 (-0.1% compared with the previous quarter and -0.9% on an annual basis). Compared with previosious quarter, the mortgage-secured loans decreased in the North-East and North-West (respectively -1.9% and -0.7%), increased in the Islands and Centre (respectively +5.6% and +1.2%), while in the South remained unchanged (0.0%). On an annual basis, the growth affected Islands (+3.6%), Centre (+2.4%), South (+2.3%) and large cities (+0.2%), while North-East, North-West and small cities recorded a reduction (respectively -5.3%, -1.8% and -1.9%).
