Foreign trade and Industrial import prices - March 2022

In March 2022 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to February 2022, increased by +1.7% for outgoing flows and by +1.3% for incoming flows. Exports raised by +1.3% for EU countries and by +2.1% for non EU countries. Imports grew by +0.3% for EU countries and by +2.4% for non EU countries.

Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, compared to the previous three months, increased by +7.7% for exports and by +9.8% for imports.

In March 2022, compared with the same month of the previous year, both exports and imports grew (+22.9% and +38.8% respectively). Outgoing flows increased by +23.5% for EU countries and by +22.2% for non EU countries. Incoming flows rose by +23.7% for EU area and by +61.0% for non EU area. The trade balance in March 2022 amounted to -84 million Euros (+420 million Euros for EU countries and -503 million Euros for non EU countries).

In March 2022, import prices increased by 2.5% on monthly basis (+2.0% for the euro zone, +2.9% for the non-euro zone). Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, import prices increased by 5.6% (+3.0% for the euro zone, +8.0% for the non-euro zone).

Import prices, compared to the same month a year ago, increased by 19.0% in March 2022 (+11.1% for the euro zone and +26.9% for the non-euro zone).
