In November 2021 estimates for seasonally adjusted index of retail trade fell in the month on month series by 0.4% in value terms and by 0.6% in volume terms, after rising for three months in a row.
In the three months to November 2021 value of sales was up 1.2% when compared with the previous three-month period, likewise volume grew by 0.9%.
In November 2021 both value and volume of retail trade continued to grow for the 9th month in a row in the year on year series. Value sales increased by 12.5% and volume sales rose by 11.7% comparing to November 2020.
In November 2021, when compared with the same month a year earlier, large-scale distribution was up 9.5%, small-scale distribution rose by 16.5% and non-store retail sales grew by 15.9%.
After falling in October, online sales rose by 6.6% in November 2021 when compared with November 2020.
Looking at the value of sales for non-food products, all sectors experienced growth besides computers and telecommunications equipment (-0.9%). The largest increases were reported for shoes, leather goods and travel items (+57.8%) and clothing (+51.8%).
