Foreign trade and Industrial import prices

In February 2021 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to January 2021, increased by +0.3% for outgoing flows and by +1.4% for incoming flows. Exports rose for EU countries (+1.2%) and dropped for non EU countries (-0.6%). Imports increased by +4.2% for non EU countries and fell by -0.5% for EU countries.

Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, compared to the previous three months, increased by +0.2% for exports and by +2.7% for imports.

In February 2021, compared with the same month of the previous year, both exports and imports decreased (-4.4% and -1.6% respectively). Outgoing flows fell by -1.8% for EU countries and by -7.2% for non EU countries. Incoming flows dropped by -0.5% for EU area and by -3.1% for non EU area. The trade balance in February 2021 amounted to +4,754 million Euros (+605 million Euros for EU countries and +4,149 million Euros for non EU countries).

In February 2021, import prices increased by 0.9% on monthly basis (+0.6% for the euro zone, +1.1% for the non-euro zone). Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, import prices increased by 2.5% (+1.2% for the euro zone, +3.6% for the non-euro zone).

Import prices, compared to the same month a year ago, decreased by 0.7% in February 2021 (+1.1% for the euro zone and -2.3% for the non-euro zone).
