Industrial turnover and orders

In May 2020 the seasonally adjusted turnover index increased by 41.9% compared to the previous month (+45.7% the domestic market and +35.2% in non-domestic market); the average of the last three months decreased by 33.0% compared to the previous three months (-33.7% in domestic market and -31.4% in non-domestic market).

The seasonally adjusted industrial new orders index rose by 42.2% compared to April (+55.9% in domestic market and +26.2% in non-domestic market); the average of the last three months dropped by 36.3% compared to the previous three months (-39.7% in domestic market and -31.2% in non-domestic market).

With respect to the same month of the previous year the calendar adjusted industrial turnover index fell by 25.9% (-25.8% in domestic market and -26.2% in non-domestic market). Calendar working days in May 2020 were 20, two less than May 2019.

The unadjusted industrial new orders index dropped by 34.7% with respect to the same month of the previous year (-34.4% in domestic market and -35.2% in non-domestic market).

The seasonally adjusted volume turnover index (only for the manufacturing sector) increased by 42.5% compared to the previous month; the average of the last three months decreased by 31.4% compared to the previous three months. The calendar adjusted volume turnover index remained 24.5% below the same month of the previous year.
