Foreign trade and Industrial import prices

In January 2020 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to December 2019, increased for outgoing flows (+2.7%) and for incoming flows (+1.7%). Exports raised for both non EU countries (+5.4%) and EU countries (+0.7%). Imports rose by +7.2% for non EU countries and dropped by -1.9% for EU countries.

Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, compared to the previous three months, decreased for both exports (-1.6%) and imports (-0.6%).

In January 2020, compared with the same month of the previous year, both exports (+2.3%) and imports (+1.7%) raised. Outgoing flows increased by +4.4% for non EU countries and by +0.8% for EU countries. Incoming flows rose by +2.3% for non EU area and by +1.2% for EU area. The trade balance in January 2020 amounted to +542 million Euros (-288 million Euros for non EU area and +830 million Euros for EU countries).

In January 2020, import prices decreased by 0.4% on monthly basis (unchanged for the euro zone, -0.7% for the non-euro zone). Over the last three months, import prices increased by 0.6% compared to the previous three months (-0.3% for the euro zone and +1.3% for the non-euro zone).

Import prices decreased by 0.3% in January 2020, compared with January 2019 (-0.6% for the euro zone and increased by +0.1% for the non-euro zone).
