Contractual wages and salaries

The index of wages according to the national collective bargaining agreement measures the evolution of wages and salaries (per employee or per hour) determined by contractual provisions set by collective agreements; the indices are calculated with reference to the fixed employment structure of the base period (December 2015).

At the end of September 2019 the coverage rate (share of national collective agreements in force for the wage setting aspects) was 56.0% in terms of employees and 53.7% in terms of the total amount of wages.

In September 2019 the hourly index increased by 0.1% while the per employee index was unchanged from last month.

Compared with September 2018 the hourly index increased by 0.8% while the per mployee index rose by 0.7%.

In the period January-September 2019 both indices increased by 1.2% compared to 2018.
