Turnover in services

The Turnover in services index measures the quarterly evolution of sales by service sector enterprises at current prices. Since first quarter 2018 indices are calculated with reference to the base year 2015 using the Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of NACE Rev.2).

In the second quarter of 2019 the seasonally adjusted Services turnover index increased by 0.3% compared to the previous quarter. In particular the index increased in Transportation and storage (+0.9%), in Administrative and support service activities (+0.8%), in Wholesale trade, trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.4%) and in Professional, scientific and technical activities (+0.2%). The index decreased in Information and communication (-1.0%) and in Accommodation and food service activities (-0.2%).

In the second quarter of 2019 the Services turnover index increased by 0.4% compared to the second quarter of 2018. In particular, the index increased by 2.1% for Transportation and storage, by 1.6% for Administrative and support service activities, by 0.4% for Accommodation and food service activities and by 0.2% for Wholesale trade, trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles. The index decreased by 1.3% for Information and communication activities and by 0.1% for Professional, scientific and technical activities.
