Turnover in services

The Turnover in services index measures the quarterly evolution of sales by service sector enterprises at current prices. Since first quarter 2018 indices are calculated with reference to the base year 2015 using the Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of NACE Rev.2).

In the first quarter of 2019 the seasonally adjusted Services turnover index decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous quarter. In particular the index increased in Information and communication (+0.9%) and in Accommodation and food service activities (+0.1%). The index decreased in Professional, scientific and technical activities (-1.2%), in Administrative and support service activities (-0.8%), in Transportation and storage (-0.2%) and in Wholesale trade, trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (-0.1%)

In the first quarter of 2019 the Services turnover index decreased by 0.5% compared to the first quarter of 2018. In particular, the index increased by 1.8% for Accommodation and food service activities, by 0.3% for Information and communication activities. The index decreased by 5.6% for Professional, scientific and technical activities, by 0.3% for Wholesale trade, trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles and by 0.1% for Administrative and support service activities. The index was unchangeg for Transportation and storage.
