Following growth in February, construction output decreased by 0.9% in the month-on-month series in March 2019.
Construction output grew by 3.9% in the first quarter (Jan to Mar) 2019, having slowed to -0.3% growth in the previous quarter.
Looking at the longer view, the year-on-year calendar adjusted series increased by 8.1% (21 calendar working days in March 2019 versus 22 in March 2018).
When compared with March 2018, the unadjusted index of production in construction grew by 6.3%.
