Production in the construction sector

Construction output is estimated to increase by 0.5% in the third quarter of 2018 (July to September) compared to the previous quarter. This rise follows a growth of 0.7% in the second quarter and a contraction of 0.9% in the first quarter of the current year.

In September 2018, the seasonally adjusted index increased by 1.3% compared to August.

Compared to September 2017, production output grew by 2.7% after adjustement for calendar effect differences, while the unadjusted index decreased by 0.9%.

When comparing the first 9 months of 2018 with the same months a year ago, construction output was up 1.5% (calendar adjusted index).
