The building permits indicators measure the quarterly evolution in the number of dwellings used for residential purposes, square metres of residential useful floor area and square metres of non-residential area using the Classification of types of Construction (CC).
The number of dwellings in new buildings increased by 16.5% in third quarter 2017 with respect to third quarter 2016.
The useful floor area increased by 14.6% in the third quarter compared with the same periods of 2016.
Non-residential area increased by 35.7% in the third quarter of 2017 (influenced by the comparison with the third quarter of 2016 which is one of the lowest values since 2000) with respect to third quarter 2016.
