Turnover in other services

Indices of turnover in other services measure the quarterly change recorded in sales, at current prices, by firms belonging to a subset of the entire domain. Since the first quarter of 2009 the indices have been calculated with reference to the base year 2005 using the new Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace Rev. 2.

Seasonally adjusted, index of turnover in the fourth quarter of 2010, compared with the previous quarter, increased by 2.9% for Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles, by 1.9% for Wholesale trade and by 1.4% for Air transport; a decrease has been recorded in Water transport (-6.3%), Postal and courier activities (-2.2%) and Information and communication (-0.7%).

In comparison with the same period a year earlier, turnover in Wholesale trade has had the biggest growth (7.8%), followed by Air transport (5.6%) and Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (5.5%), while Postal and courier activities fell by 7.2%.
