Production and costs in construction

In May 2016 the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction compared with the previous month decreased by 3.6%. The percentage change of the average of the quarter March-May 2016 was -0.9%, with respect to the previous quarter.

The calendar adjusted index of production in construction sector in May 2016 decreased by 2.6% compared with the same month of the previous year (calendar working days being 22 versus 20 in May 2015). In the period January-May 2016 the percentage change was -2.4% compared with the same period of 2015.

In May 2016 the unadjusted index of production in the construction sector increased by 4.4% compared with May 2015. The average index of the first five months of 2016 was 0.8% higher in comparison with the same period of 2015.
