Employment and unemployment (quarterly)

Istat estimates that 22.5 million persons were employed in the 2^nd quarter 2015, rising up 0.8% (+180 thousands) from 2^nd quarter 2014. The employment rate increased to 56.3% (+0.6 percentage points). Unemployment was unchanged at 3.1 million, and the unemployment rate decreased to 12.1%. The inactivity rate fell off to 35.8% (-0.6 percentage points).
