Istat presents data on Italy’s foreign trade as well as unit value and volume indices (base year 2010=100) referring to April 2015. The results of the flash estimates on extra-EU trade for April 2015 have been disseminated on May 25th .
In April 2015 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to March 2015, decreased by 0.8% for outgoing flows and are stationary (+0.0%) for incoming flows. Exports increased by 0.2% for EU countries and decreased by 1.9% for non EU countries. The stationary trend of imports is the result of an increase for non EU countries (+1.5%) and a decrease for EU countries (-1.1%). In the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data, in comparison with the previous quarter, showed a growth of 2.7% for exports and 3.8% for imports.
In April 2015, compared with the same month of the previous year, trade increased for both flows: exports (+9.0%) and imports (+9.3%). Outgoing flows increased by 6.4% for EU countries and 12.3% for non EU countries. Incoming flows increased by 11.6% for EU area and by 6.3% for non EU area. The trade balance in March amounted to +3.7 billion euros (+1.1 billion euros for EU area and +2.6 billion euros for non EU countries).
