Monthly report on Italian economy

The recent slowdown in emerging economies and in the euro area led to a reduction in Italian export which, along with depressed internal demand, is affecting industrial activity.

Although construction and service sector surveys showed a recent improvement, manufacturing confidence and our composite leading indicator signal a persistent feeble economic activity.

With lack of labour market improvement, private consumption will continue to expand at a moderate pace.
