The building permits indicators measure the quarterly evolution in the number of dwellings used for residential purposes, square metres of residential useful floor area and square metres of non-residential area using the Classification of types of Construction (CC).
During the second half of 2013, the residential buildings decreased compared with the same period of previous year (-32.1% in number of dwellings and -29.1% in useful floor area). Non-residential buildings declined by 28.9% compared with the same period of 2012.
The number of dwellings decreased by 26.1% in the third quarter and by 37.6% in the fourth quarter with respect to third and fourth quarter 2012.
The useful floor area declined by 23.0% in the third quarter and by 34.7% in the fourth quarter compared with 2012.
Non-residential area decreased by 22.3% in the third quarter of 2013 and by 35.3% in the fourth quarter with respect to the third and fourth quarter 2012.
