Large firms labour indicators
Labour indicators for large firms (enterprises with 500 employees and more) are calculated with reference to the base year 2005 using the Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace rev. 2).
In October 2011 the seasonally adjusted employment index in large firms is unchanged compared with September 2011 (unchanged in industry and +0.1% in services); net of workers in cassa integrazione guadagni (Cig = short-time working allowance) it increased by 0.1% (+0.1% in industry and -0.1% in services). The percentage change of the average of the last three months compared to the previous three months was -0.2% both gross of Cig and net of Cig.
The unadjusted employment index in large firms decreased by 0.4% compared with October 2010 (-0.2% net of Cig); the percentage change in the first ten months of 2011 with respect to same period of 2010 was -0.6% (-0.3% net of Cig).
In October 2011 the seasonally adjusted index of gross average earnings per hours worked increased by 4.2% with respect to the previous month (+0.1% in industry and +6.3% in services). The percentage change of the average of the last three months compared to the previous three months was -0.5% (+0.1% in industry and -0.5% in services).
The unadjusted index of gross average earnings per hours worked increased by 4.6% compared with October 2010 (+3.2% in industry and +5.4% in services). The percentage change in the first ten months of 2011 with respect to the same period of 2010 was +1.6% (+3.5% in industry and +0.6% in services).
