Following the project’s work plan, the “Workshop to discuss phase 2 advances, present tools and research results” is organised by Istat on 8 – 9 November 2012. The meeting focuses on the research activities on going in the second period of the project in preparation of the Final BLUE-ETS Conference. The event has a technical purpose which will offer the possibility to describe the main results achieved so far in the different themes dealt by the project.
BLUE-ETS (BLUE-Enterprises and Trade Statistics) is a collaborative project on official business statistics receiving funds from the European Community’s 7th Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under the “Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities” theme. The project, which is tailored on the objectives of the EU Commission MEETS Programme (Modernisation of European Enterprise and Trade Statistics), is centred around one of EU NSIs key challenges: providing high quality and robust statistical information, for better policy and socio-economic research, and to support the renewed Lisbon Strategy with the aims of reducing the response burden, simplifying and setting priorities, cutting costs on enterprises that stem from red-tape, over-regulation and duplications, modernising and re-engineering the methods for the production of statistics, making data collection less burdensome and providing more information.
