Retail trade - September 2022
In September 2022 estimates for seasonally adjusted index of value sales grew by 0.5% in the month on month series, likewise volume remained unchanged.
In the three month to September 2022 value of sales increased by 1.2%, whereas volume of sales dropped by 0.5% when compared with the previous three-month period.
In September 2022 while value of retail trade continued to grow for the 19th month in a row in the year on year series gaining 4.1%, volume sales contracted by 2.7%.
In September 2022, when compared with the same month a year earlier, large-scale distribution was up 7.1%, small-scale distribution increased by 1.4% and non-store retail sales rose by 0.8%.
Online sales was up 3.8% in September 2022 when compared with September 2021.
Looking at the value of sales for non-food products, all sectors experienced growth besides electric household appliances, audio-video equipment (-7.2%), optical instruments and photographic equipment (-1.5%) and stationery, books, newspapers and magazines (-0.2%). The largest increases were reported for cosmetic and toilet articles (+5.3%) and tools (+5.2%).
