In June 2021 estimates for seasonally adjusted index of retail trade slightly increased in the month on month by 0.7% in value terms and 0.6% in volume terms.
In the second quarter of the 2021 retail sales grew by 2.7% in value and 2.9% in volume when compared with the previous quarter.
Year on year, value of retail trade rose by 7.7% with a 11.9% growth in non-food sales and a 2.5% in food sales. Volume sales are also growing (+8.1%).
In June 2021, all channels of distribution increased when compared with June 2020. Large-scale distribution was up 3.3%, small-scale distribution grew by 10.9% and non-store retail sales rose by 4.2%.
Online sales increased by 23.7% compared with the same month a year earlier.
Looking at the value of sales for non-food products, all sectors witnessed growth apart from Sporting equipment, games and toys (-4.6%) and Furniture and textile items and household furnishings (-0.2%). The largest increases were reported for Clothing (+24.5%), Shoes, leather goods and travel items (+19.2%) and Electric household appliances, audio-video equipment (+19.0%).
