Retail trade - July 2022
In July 2022 estimates for seasonally adjusted index of value sales increased by 1.3% in the month on month series, likewise volume was up 1.0%.
In the three months to July 2022 value of sales grew by 1.9%, whereas volume of sales grew by 0.3% when compared with the previous quarter.
In July 2022 while value of retail trade continued to grow for the 17th month in a row in the year on year series gaining 4.2%, volume sales contracted by 0.9%.
In July 2022, when compared with the same month a year earlier, large-scale distribution was up 7.3%, small-scale distribution remained unchanged and non-store retail sales dropped by 1.5%.
Online sales returned to grow, increasing by 20.6% in July 2022 when compared with July 2021.
Looking at the value of sales for non-food products, all sectors experienced growth besides Optical instruments and photographic equipment (-1.3%) and Stationery, books, newspapers and magazines (-1.2%). The largest increases were reported for Computers and telecommunications equipment (+8.2%) and for Electric household appliances, audio-video equipment (+6.9%).
