Retail trade - December 2025
In December 2025, seasonally adjusted retail sales decreased by 0.8% in value and by 0.9% in volume compared with November 2025.
In the 4th quarter of 2025, retail sales rose by 0.3% in value and by 0.1% in volume compared with the previous quarter.
On a year-on-year basis, retail sales in December 2025 increased by 0.9% in value, while falling by 0.2% in volume.
Compared with December 2024, retail sales grew by 0.6% in large-scale distribution, by 0.8% in small-scale stores and by 0.8% in non-store retailing. Online sales rose by 3.1% over the same period.
With regard to non-food goods, year-on-year changes varied across the different product groups. The largest increases were recorded for Pharmaceutical products (+4.6%) and Cosmetic and toilet articles (+3.8%), while the most marked declines were observed in Tools (-3.4%) and Shoes, leather goods and travel items (-3.3%).
Over 2025 as a whole, retail sales values rose by 0.8% year on year, while volumes fell by 0.6%.
