Retail trade - April 2025
In April 2025, retail sales are estimated to have increased in the monthly series by 0.7% in value and 0.5% in volume.
In the three months to April 2025, retail sales grew by 0.1% in value and declined by 0.4% in volume compared to the previous three-month period.
On a year-on-year basis, in April 2025, retail sales recorded a growth of 3.7% in value and 1.9% in volume.
Compared to April 2024, the value of retail sales increased for large-scale distribution (+6.8%) and small-scale distribution (+0.9%), while it declined for non-store sales (-0.1%) and online sales (-0.7%).
As for non-food products, year-on-year changes were mostly negative. The largest increases were recorded in Cosmetic and toilet articles (+3.4%) and Optical instruments and photographic equipment (+3.2%), while the sharpest decreases were seen in Shoes, leather goods and travel items (-3.9%) and Sporting equipment, games and toys (-3.5%).
