Production and costs in construction

In February 2017 the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction compared with the previous month increased by 4.6%. In the quarter Dec 2016-Feb 2017 the index increased by 1.0% with respect to the previous quarter.

The calendar adjusted index of production in construction sector increased by 1.6% compared with the same month of the previous year (calendar working days being 20 vs 21 in February 2016). In the period January-February 2017 the percentage change of the index was -1.8% in comparison with the same period of 2016.

In February 2017 the unadjusted index of production in the construction sector decreased by 2.6% compared with February 2016. The average index of the first two months of 2017 was 0.8% lower in comparison with the same period of 2016.

In February 2017 the construction cost index for residential buildings decreased by 0.2% compared with the previous month and increased by 0.3% compared with
February 2016.
