Production and costs in construction

In August 2016 the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction compared with the previous month increased by 3.4%. The percentage change of the average of the quarter Jun-Aug 2016 was 0.4% with respect to the previous quarter.

The calendar adjusted index of production in construction sector in August 2016 increased by 4.2% compared with the same month of the previous year (calendar working days being 22 versus 21 in August 2015). In the period January-August 2016 the index was unchanged in comparison with the same period of 2015.

In August 2016 the unadjusted index of production in the construction sector increased by 7.7% compared with August 2015. The average index of the first eight months of 2016 was 0.2% lower in comparison with the same period of 2015.

In August 2016 the cost index for road construction with tunnel section decreased by 0.1% compared with the previous month and by 0.8% compared with August 2015; the cost index for road construction without tunnel section remained unchanged compared with the previous month and decreased by 0.9% compared with the same month of the previous year.

Since January 2013 all the cost indices are calculated with reference to the base year 2010.
