Large firms labour indicators
In November 2010 the seasonally adjusted employment index in large firms was unchanged (-0.2% in industry and +0.1% in services) compared with October 2010; net of workers in cassa integrazione guadagni (c.i.g. = short-time working allowance) it decreased by 0.1% (-0.2% in industry and +0.1% in services). The percentage change of the average of the last three months compared to the previous three months was -0.3% both gross of c.i.g. and net of c.i.g.
The unadjusted employment index in large firms decreased by 1.4% compared with November 2009 (-1.0% net of c.i.g.); in the average of the first eleven months of 2010 compared with the average of the same period of 2009 employment fell by 1.8% (-1.0% net of c.i.g.).
In November 2010 the seasonally adjusted index of gross average earnings per hours worked increased by 0.3% with respect to the previous month (-0.6% in industry and +0.8% in services). The percentage change of the average of the last three months compared to the previous three months was +0.2% (+1.3% in industry and -0.5% in services).
The unadjusted index of gross average earnings per hours worked increased by 0.2% compared with November 2009 (-1.1% in industry and +0.8% in services); the percentage change in the period January-November 2010 compared with the same period of 2009 was +1.5% (+0.5% in industry and +2.1% in services).
