Industrial production - September 2024

The index measures the monthly evolution of the volume of industrial production (excluding construction). From January 2022 the indices are calculated as annual chain-linked indices instead of fixed base indices. The weighting reference is now year 2023 while the reference base is the year 2021=100. Indices are produced according to Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace Rev. 2).

In September 2024 the seasonally adjusted industrial production index decreased by 0.4% compared with the previous month. The percentage change of the third quarter with respect to the second one was -0.6%.

The calendar adjusted industrial production index decreased by 4.0% compared with September 2023 (calendar working days in September 2024 being the same as in September 2023).

The unadjusted industrial production index decreased by 3.9% compared with September 2023.
