Industrial and construction producer prices
In April 2020, compared with the previous month, industrial producer prices decreased by 2.6%. On domestic market producer prices decreased by 3.4%, on non-domestic market by 0.7%.
Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, industrial produce prices decreased by 2.1% (-2.7% for the domestic market, -0.6% for the non-domestic market).
In April 2020, compared with April 2019, industrial producer prices decreased by 5.1% (-6.7% on domestic market, -1.0% on foreign market).
In April 2020 construction producer prices of Residential buildings and non-residential buildings increased by 0.2% both on monthly and annual basis; construction producer prices of Roads and railways increased by 0.2% compared with the previous month and by 0.6% on annual basis.
Over the last three months, compared to the previous three months, construction producer prices decreased by 0.1% for Residential buildings and non-residential buildings while increased by 0.2% for Roads and railways.
Covid-19 crisis had a limited impact on the industrial producer prices survey and a moderate loss in the responses rate was registered. Actions carried out to tackle these disturbances in data collection (see the Methodological note, page 11) allowed to calculate and release accurate provisional indices for April 2020.
Dissemination of services producer price indices of the first quarter 2020 was postponed to the next producer prices press release on June 30. Postponement became necessary to complete data collection and indices annual rebasing process, which have slowed down as a result of Covid-19 crisis.
