Extra-Eu foreign trade
Istat presents preliminary data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU countries in June 2014. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in June 2014 will be disseminated on coming 17 September.
In June 2014, exports to non-EU countries decreased by 2.8% and imports decreased by 1.2% compared with the same month of the previous year. The trade balance showed a surplus of 2,150 million euro compared with a 2,417 million euro surplus in the same month of 2013.
In June 2014, in seasonally-adjusted terms, exports decreased by 4.3% and imports increased by 1.9% compared with May 2014. Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data showed a 0.3% increase in outgoing flows and a 2.0% increase in incoming flows in comparison with the previous three months.
In the first half of 2014 exports to non-EU countries decreased by 2.2% and imports decreased by 4.6% compared with the same period of 2013. The trade balance registered a surplus of 9,429 million euro compared to the surplus of 7,621 million euro in the same period of 2013. Excluding energy, the trade balance presented a surplus of 30,240 million euro compared with a 33,441 million euro surplus in January-June 2013.
