Foreign trade with non-EU countries - May 2025

Data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU27 countries in May 2025 are preliminary. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in May 2025 will be disseminated on coming 16 July 2025.

In May 2025, exports to non-EU27 countries decreased by 5.2% and imports decreased by 3.6%, compared with the same month of the previous year.

In May 2025, in seasonally adjusted terms, exports decreased by 3.5% and imports declined by 7.6%, compared with April 2025. Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed decreases in outgoing and incoming flows of 1.0% and 1.8%, respectively.

In May 2025, the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of 5,256 million euro compared with a surplus of 5,906 million euro in May 2024; excluding energy, the surplus was equal to 8,960 million euro, down compared with a 9,977-million-euro surplus in May 2024.
