Foreign trade with non-EU countries
Data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-Eu27 countries in May 2021 are preliminary. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in May 2021 will be disseminated on coming 16 July 2021.
In May 2021 exports to non-Eu27 countries increased by 43.9% and imports rose by 55.0% compared with the same month of the previous year.
In May 2021, in seasonally adjusted terms, exports decreased by 4.1% and imports by 1.5% compared with April 2021.
Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed a 6.1% increase in outgoing flows and a 13.9% rise in incoming flows.
In May 2021 the trade balance with non-Eu27 countries registered a surplus of 4,767 million euro compared to the surplus of 4.114 million euro in May 2020; excluding energy, the surplus was equal to 7,681 million euro, up compared with a 5,201 million euro surplus in May 2020.
