Foreign trade with non-EU countries - January 2026

Data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU27 countries in January 2026 are preliminary. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in January 2026 will be disseminated on coming 20 March 2026.

In January 2026, exports to non-EU27 countries decreased by 6.0% and imports dropped by 14.0%, compared with the same month of the previous year.

In January 2026, in seasonally adjusted terms, exports and imports decreased by 1.9% and 3.9% respectively, compared with December 2025. Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed an increase in outgoing flows of 0.9% and a decrease in incoming flows of 4.6%.

In January 2026, the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of 2,124 million euro compared with a surplus of 370 million euro in January 2025; excluding energy, the surplus was equal to 5,318 million euro, up compared with a 4,947-million-euro surplus in January 2025.
