Extra-Eu foreign trade
Istat presents preliminary data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU countries in February 2015. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in February 2015 will be disseminated on coming 16 April.
In February 2015, exports to non-EU countries increased by 7.1% and imports decreased by 4.1% compared with the same month of the previous year. The trade balance showed a surplus of 2,840 million euro compared with a 1,338 million euro surplus in the same month of 2014.
In February 2015, in seasonally-adjusted terms, exports increased by 4.5% and imports increased by 1.1% compared with January 2015. Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data showed a 1.5% increase in outgoing flows and a 3.5% decrease in incoming flows in comparison with the previous three months.
In the period January-February 2015 exports to non-EU countries increased by 2.0% and imports decreased by 6.4% compared with the same period of 2014. The trade balance registered a surplus of 2,606 million euro compared to the surplus of 400 million euro in the same period of 2014. Excluding energy, the trade balance presented a surplus of 7,307 million euro compared with a 7,779 million euro surplus in January-February 2014.
